About Us

The East Indian Hockey League (EIHL) since 1992

17 years ago a group of adventurous youth decided that they needed an organized venue to play ball hockey.  Thus the EIHL was born.  The EIHL is a grassroots ball hockey Establishment.  It was founded by players, for players and is  completely done for the love of the game and to maintain and foster friendship. The EIHL continues to grow, and to the players credit has survived for so many years.  It is with thanks to the players of the EIHL that we have been in existence for over 22 glorious years.

We are operated in a cooperative manner and are a completely non-profit league. We do this for the game.  It is not a sanctioned league, nor is it a business.  It is a group of friends who have been playing together since 1992.  Over the years we have seen many friends and family join the ranks to help us grow into something special.   By using conservative estimates, there have been approximately 190 players that have gone through the EIHL system.  We have produced or helped develop many top Ontario ball hockey players. We have played on the streets of county court, parking lots and now we play in the beloved tennis courts.  We play through all types of weather (heat wave, rain, sleet or snow).  We have gone through many incarnations of the EIHL cup and have used the trophy you see to your left as our holy grail for the past few season.  We don’t play for money; we play for respect, friendship and bragging rights.

EIHL.ca – The website for this league was created in May of 2000.  The website has seen many incarnations.  We have  gone from homestead to Geocities to our new and own home at EIHL.ca.  The website index page alone has had over 28,000 hits since inception, quite a feat for us. This does not even count our world famous message board which probably has 10X the hits. Thanks to the players of this league, we are now in our 46th season! We continuously look to improve our rules,  website, game and atmosphere. If you have any suggestions feel free to send them to eihlnews@yahoo.ca and don’t forget to visit us at www.eihl.ca

If you have concerns with any of the content on this website please contact eihlnews@yahoo.ca and we would be happy to remove or delete anything that is found to be offensive or used inappropriately.
The EIHL, a ball hockey institution!
